We recently had the opportunity to update our kitchen counter tops. Rockwood Kitchens was our company of choice to assist in the updating of our kitchen. Prior to our update we had the standard builder supplied melamine counter tops with the think not so attractive big round bull nose edging. We chose the material quartz from Rockwood Kitchens as our choice to give our counter tops their new great look. Our colour choice was white with just enough grey veins in it to give it a natural marble look but with the durability and hardness of low maintaince quartz.

We have a large kitchen with 64 square feet of usable counter space including a large island that we also put a new top on. Our kitchen walls were not square and with no perfect right angles we were concerned about how Rockwood Kitchen’s installers would be able to complete the new install in a manner that did not look like a do it yourself job that did not line up smoothly. Tony and Ken were the two installers from Rockwood Kitchens that completed our new counter top install. Tony and Ken worked together as smooth as two gears in a fine Swiss watch. Tony masterfully looked after the alignment and install of the main counters while Ken demonstrated his craftsman skill by precessionally cutting the holes for the sink taps on all three counters. We also had two bathroom counter tops upgraded which accounts for the three sets of taps holes that Ken perfectly measured and drilled. When we had our plumber install the three sets of taps the next day, they all fit perfectly.

Watching Tony install the main counters was amazing. Tony’s years of experience as an expert installer were quickly seen and I still don’t know how he made perfectly square beautiful quarts counter tops fit against our uneven old walls and non-level pre-existing kitchen cabinets. Prior to the final setting of the counter tops it was obvious that our walls were out of square. I asked Tony how he was going to manage to align our new counters with our old walls. Tony, responded like a true craftsman and didn’t even raise an eyebrow as he said, “that’s the secrets of the trade.” His calmness surprised me but I moved on to see how Ken was coming along upstairs installing the bathroom counter top. Ken had everything under control giving our two bathrooms the much need face-lift that they needed. When I returned to the kitchen to see how Tony was doing and I was totally amazed to see that he had perfectly aligned the new kitchen counter tops by himself to such a high standard that I couldn’t even see the seam in the corner were a join existed.

I must comment on Tony and Ken’s professional demeanor. Both men were extremely polite and courteous, always taking time to take off their shoes to respect our home. Please pass our thanks on to Tony and Ken for their great work and thank you for providing us with these extremely professional craftsmen.

Thank you very much for the excellent quality products and amazing service.

We had been looking at remodelling our kitchen for a couple of years and when we finally decided to go for it we found Rockwood Kitchens. They are a local (Newmarket) company and had very good reviews online. We went to their showroom and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Tommy came to our house and was amazing at listening to what we wanted in our new kitchen and coming up with a design on his computer right before our eyes. His knowledge of the product he sells and skill at using the design software went a long way in making us feel like we were dealing with a professional.

Within a few days we had a quote for cabinets and granite countertops that was very reasonable and well within our budget(even though my wife naturally chose their most expensive line of cabinets). We scheduled an install week in January 2013 and our installer, Ryan, did an amazing job and put in quite a few extra hours on the last day to make sure our cabinets were installed on time. Ryan did an awesome job on the install which included some intricate crown moulding trimwork. We had pulled down a bulk head that was above the cabinets in our old kitchen and were a little worried that some of the exposed plumbing would be too difficult to work around but Ryan made it look easy. After Ryan had the lower cabinets in Lee came and made the template for the granite countertops(we had already been to the warehouse to pick the slabs of granite they would be using for our kitchen and there was a huge selection) and they were installed the next week. There are not too many kitchen installers that can have your granite ready that quick. And the finish on the granite is stunning.

We wanted to be able to do the flooring, electrical, plumbing and backsplash ourselves in order to keep our kitchen reno reasonable so Rockwood was exactly what we were looking for, a company to install good quality cabinets and countertops. And these cabinets are well built, solid maple doors and cabinet fronts with 3/4 inch plywood (not particle board) cabinets and slow close hardware on everything(which is usually a much more expensive option). I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great quality product and friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and skilled service.

Ron and I just wanted to take a bit of time to say thank you and Rockwood Kitchens so much for your assistance in helping us create our dream kitchen. We are thrilled that it is finally done and are so happy with the finished product. We honestly love it, more than we even expected we would. We hosted our first Christmas dinner this year and our family just all loved it so much.

Danielle, you really were great in helping us pull this entire thing together. When we first started this process, we had no idea where to even begin. We had never in our lives embarked on such a major home renovation, nevermind designing a kitchen! Your design advise and suggestions really put us at ease and made us comfortable with the selections we were making. You are great at what you do! We really do appreciate all of your hard work in helping this project come together for us. In the end, we chose the Chocolate Maple cabinets and are very happy with our selection. We are happy we decided to go ahead with the plans to install an island as well. It was something we had considered not doing for awhile, and now it's one of our favourite part of the kitchen!!

The installation guys were great, arrived on time and were very efficient. Paul was the one doing most of the installation work and he really was a great guy.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rockwood Kitchens to others. They exceeded our exceptions and so did our kitchen!

Tommy Nguyen epitomizes the excellent customer service factor that homeowners are looking for. His design experience and use of computer generated 3D drawings allowed us to visualize our soon to be transformed space. We had numerous questions that were always answered with a phone call or an email in a timely fashion.

We were concerned that our timeline would be impossible to attain, yet Rockwood Kitchens were able to meet our every need. Our new kitchen was designed, measured, installed in an incredibly short time frame, with Tommy contacting us after each step in our kitchen design to make sure we didn't have any questions or concerns and were elated with that portion of the installation. Tommy kept us informed of all visits deliveries and installers so that we were able to meet them or make alternate arrangements.
